Since Musa Masala started in the summer of 2016, we have been fundraising for the construction of the Wongchhu Sherpa Memorial Hospital in Khamding, Solukhumbu, Nepal. We have seen and camped on the land the hospital was to be built on, saw the buildings come up this past November and made a video to help promote the progress that had been made. Now there is a new short film, created by Lakpa Sherpa and the Himalayan Yokpu Foundation. This film, shot and produced by Sakar Shrestha, is a beautiful production. Not only does it show the hospital’s earthquake-resistant design and topnotch construction, but it shows the journey from Kathmandu in all its detail and difficulties as aspiring new actors, Pasang, Sonam and Super Phula, make their way to Khamding, fighting traffic and the elements along the way.

Enjoy this as a wonderful tribute to the tenacity of the Himalayan Yokpu Foundation, the Wilderness Medical Society, Wongchhu Peak Promotion, Stanford University (and Musa, too!) as we see the dream of Wongchhu Sherpa become a reality. There is still a ways to go before the doors open and devastating rains caused some damage, but this is happening and we are so proud of the work Lakpa and the team have accomplished. Jam Jam, Musas!!
